Tyler Christensen grew up in Taylorsville, where nearly every house on his street had a swamp cooler on the roof. His uncle serviced evaporative coolers on the side, and Tyler spent his teenage summers hauling pads, fixing float valves, and learning how much a working cooler mattered to the families who depended on it. By the time he finished high school, he knew he wanted to work in the trade.
He completed an HVAC training program and spent more than a decade with larger contractors around the Salt Lake Valley, working his way from installer to lead service technician. Along the way he saw a lot of good work, and a lot of systems that were oversized, undercharged, or sold to homeowners who did not need them. He started Salt Lake City Air Conditioning to run things the way he thought they should be run: diagnose first, price up front, and never push a replacement that the numbers do not support.
Today Tyler runs the company with lead technician Luis Ortega and service coordinator Kami Jensen. The team is intentionally small so customers talk to the same people from the first call to the follow-up. Most of our work comes from the same neighborhoods where Tyler grew up and still lives, and we want those neighbors to feel comfortable calling us again.
What We Stand For
Diagnose Before Selling
Every recommendation starts with testing the system. We would rather find a $200 repair than sell an unnecessary $8,000 system.
Prices You See First
You approve the price before any work begins. Replacement quotes list the equipment so you can compare them fairly.
Built for Our Climate
High elevation, dry air, and big seasonal swings change how systems should be sized and set up. We design for the valley.
Treat the Home Like Ours
Shoe covers, drop cloths, and a clean work area are standard on every visit.
Meet the people behind the work
Our team is small on purpose. You will talk to the same few people from the first call to the follow-up.
